焼尻島に咲く花
オオバナノエンレイソウ（大花延齢草）
今年もオオバナノエンレイソウがいつもの場所に咲きだしました。

森の木陰でひっそりと咲くことから「森の貴婦人」や
春の短い期間だけ咲くのでスプリング・エフェメラル「春の妖精」とも呼ばれます。
花言葉は「奥ゆかしい美しさ」

White Trillium**

Once again, the white trilliums have begun to bloom in their usual place.

Blooming quietly in the shade of the forest,
they are often called the “Lady of the Woods.”
Because they appear only for a short time in spring,
they are also known as spring ephemerals—“fairies of spring.”

Their language of flowers is said to be
“modest beauty.”

薬効があることから延齢、花が大きいので大花。
子房全体が濃紫色のものは変種の「チシマエンレイソウ」
